Officially founded in 2001, Pakistan Institute of Interior Designers began its journey several years before the fact. Founded through the persistence of Danish Zuby and his fellow professionals, the Institute was a labor of love that took many years to manifest. Emerging out of a desire to create and inculcate a ‘culture of design’ in the cityscapes of Pakistan, the Institute is a multifaceted platform for the development of a culture and a forum for the oft-neglected interior and architectural designers of the country. The platform is to safeguard the integrity of Pakistan’s designers, to promote a standard of work and professional conduct among them, as well as facilitate the well-being of designers. For this purpose, the Institute arranged the Awards for Excellence in Interior Design, participated in the Institute of Architects of Pakistan’s Expo (IAPEX), and organized lecture series. Moving forward, Pakistan Institute of Interior Designers wishes to encourage young designers to aspire, come at par with international standards, and reach beyond.
